What are the 4 most common car crash injuries?

There are so many ways that East Orange plaintiffs can get injured in a car crash. However, the most common kinds of car crash injuries are head injuries, back injuries, neck injuries and chest injuries. These injuries can be extremely debilitating, and extremely expensive to treat. Let's take a look at them in a little more detail.

Head injuries are some of the most debilitating injuries caused by car accidents. They often happen when passengers or drivers hit their heads against dashboards, steering wheels or windows. This can result in traumatic brain damage.

Back injuries and spinal cord injuries are also common. They can result in serious nerve damage that affects sensation and control of legs, feet, arms, hands and other areas of the body.

Neck injuries are common as well. The most widely known neck injury is whiplash, which happens when a car is jerked suddenly in one direction and neck ligaments are damaged, causing serious pain and head mobility problems.

Finally, chest injuries happen after a blunt force trauma to the chest region. Such injuries can cause collapsed lungs, broken ribs and internal bleeding. These issues need to be immediately dealt with by emergency workers.

East Orange car accident victims who suffered serious injuries likely had one or more of the above injuries. Depending on the extent and severity of those injuries medical costs could be so high that they are completely unaffordable by the accident victim. One way to try and pay for these costs -- for potential plaintiffs who were hurt because of another party's negligence -- could be the pursuit of a personal injury claim related to the car accident in New Jersey civil court.
