New Jersey auto accident resulted in two people injured
Recently in New Jersey, the Cedar Grove Police were busy investigating an accident that caused a 45-minute traffic backup. A car accident occurred that resulted in two people being sent to the hospital. According to the Cedar Grove Police Chief, a northbound service utility vehicle (SUV) struck a pickup truck on Pompton Avenue. The SUV was driven by a Little Falls man who made a left turn onto Bradford Avenue when he hit the pickup. The Lincoln Park pickup driver was travelling with a teenage passenger. The police officer in charge ticketed the SUV driver with a citation for an improper turn.
The people inside the pickup complained of pain in their hips and shoulders and they were transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey, for treatment. Motor vehicle accidents often cause serious injuries and fatalities across New Jersey. Failure to comply with road regulations will increase the chance of accidents occurring. Negligent drivers may also receive citations with fines and could also face imprisonment if they continue to disregard the safety of others.
Seatbelts should be worn at all times while driving. Drivers should also avoid distractions like cellular phones while driving. Many accidents are also caused by drinking and driving. An intoxicated person tends to be more aggressive while driving and often speeds, which can have disastrous and tragic consequences.
If negligence is established, the accident victim may seek compensation for medical expenses incurred as well as future medical expenses, reimbursement for lost wages, and pain and suffering.
